High Park

A new custom home near High Park, and the studio's most recent work — designed by Doty Design Studio with Canfield & Co., and built by the same hands. It is the clearest expression of what an architect-trained builder does when the drawings and the site meetings belong to the same office.

When the person detailing the stair is also the person standing on the subfloor, the usual gap between design intent and built result closes. Decisions that would take an RFI cycle elsewhere are resolved the same morning, and the drawing set stays honest because its author has to build it.
